About Us

Mission and Vision
The mission of the Windsor High School Counseling Department is to empower all students to become contributing members of society and life-long learners.

Through a developmental program that addresses academic planning, personal/social needs, and post-secondary goals, our vision is to see students attain their highest potential. We value diversity and strive to meet the needs of each unique student.

As professional school counselors, we strive to build professional relationships with students, parents, and educators based on mutual respect, trust, and open communication. We respect the rights and responsibilities of parents, and we adhere to the laws and ethical standards of the profession.

The counseling program is coordinated by professional school counselors who have been trained in graduate preparation programs, hold master’s degrees in school counseling, and who are licensed by the State of Colorado.

Libba James - Counselor
I have been a Windsor Wizard for 14 years! I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Winthrop University with a Master's Degree in Education in School Counseling, and Colorado State University with a Ph.D in Education and Human Resource Studies. I was born and raised in South Carolina, but found a new home in beautiful Colorado. I love water skiing, cooking, woodworking, and watching Clemson Tigers football. My family and friends are the most important people in my life, so I try to fill all of my spare time with those incredible people!

Peter Marino - Counselor
I have been a Windsor Wizard for 5 years! I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and the University of Northern Colorado with a Master's Degree in School Counseling. I am an outdoorsy guy, with a love for hiking, bike riding, snowboarding, and just hanging out in nature. My wife and I enjoy cooking, exploring new places and going on spontaneous adventures together. I love playing chess and would love any challenges!

Heather Haskins - Counselor
This is my second year as a Windsor Wizard! I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and the University of Denver with a Master's Degree in School Counseling. I have been a school counselor/interventionist for 8 years now. My husband, son and I moved to the area last year from a little farm town outside of Steamboat Springs in Northwestern Colorado. Together we enjoy camping, fishing, fixer upper, hockey, watching the Denver Broncos and gardening. We recently got a puppy which is also keeping us very busy! I am very excited to be here in Windsor!

Angie Rizzuto - Counselor
I have been a Windsor Wizard for 19 years, and an educator for 21 years! I graduated from Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado with an Associate’s Degree in Science, Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, and also earned my Master's degree in Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters! My favorite color is pink, and if every season could be Fall, I would be content. I enjoy playing tennis and reading, I love to vacuum, and I am pretty sure that doing laundry will kill me someday. I grew up in Southeastern Colorado and am in awe of both the sprawling prairie and the majestic mountains of our state.
