Robotics Team
Wizards Robotics
Our program began in 2011 and has consistently competed at a high level. Teams meet after school beginning in early September to prepare for competitions beginning in January. We have a long history of excellence in robotics competitions. Team members join with the understanding that significant time and dedication are needed to solve the engineering problem presented to them. In return, those team members will develop skills which will serve them in postsecondary engineering and computer science programs as well as earn admission to college and scholarships based on that work. Just like any other competitive team, Robotics team members are required to meet high expectations of dedication and responsibility to remain eligible for participation.
Our Teams
- 5115 - Escape Velocity
- 6382 - Batman’s Car
- 10448 - One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
- 24194 - The Titans
Our Mission
Wizards Robotics strives to ensure equal educational opportunities for all students of Windsor High School for the exploration and discovery of engineering concepts through robotics. We offer instructional and extracurricular activities aimed at reaching this goal. Our commitment to the Windsor community is a part of all our actions.
We seek to:
- Introduce students to basic concepts of robotics.
- Provide the opportunity for the students to design and build mechanical assemblies and gain intuitive insight into identifying the weak links and failure mechanisms of various structures.
- Provide the opportunity for the students to learn about computer aided design tools.
- Provide the opportunity for students to learn how to write code that interfaces with various equipment.
- Introduce students to a simulated engineering environment so that they may develop the skills necessary to succeed in engineering programs in higher education.
- Offer students an opportunity to learn the value of lifelong community service and the chance to help others.
