COUNSELOR CONTACT INFORMATION

Windsor High School utilizes Xello — a comprehensive website that students can use to make plans about colleges and careers. It is a service we use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information specific to our school.

Xello allows you to:

  • Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online interest surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers.
  • Research colleges – Compare GPAs, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past.
  • Explore and research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments.
  • Access job opportunities and work-based learning experiences to enhance your learning and post-secondary readiness.
  • Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned by the school to better prepare students for future college and career goals.

All of these are part of your Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP).

What is an Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP)?

Life beyond high school is different from what it used to be. Most jobs in Colorado now and in the future require training or education beyond high school. There are fewer jobs for high school graduates now than at any other time in Colorado’s history. Students who graduate and work in Colorado will need in-demand skills that meet business, industry, and higher education standards.

ICAP is a multi-year process that intentionally guides you as you explore career, academic, and postsecondary opportunities. With the support of adults, you’ll develop the awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and skills to create your own meaningful and powerful pathways to be career and college ready.

ICAP helps students imagine a future career and helps them design the way to get there. You’ll have a chance to look inside — to determine your interests and passions, and outside — to explore and experience career opportunities. With greater knowledge, you can imagine and then craft your individual career pathway to success.

For more information about Colorado’s ICAP requirements, please view CDE’s ICAP Fact Sheet.
